The mineral group "Garnet" consists of several varieties:
Pyralspites (Al): Almandine, Pyrope, Spessartine, and Ugrandites (Ca): Andradite, Grossular, Uvarovite. These pure "end-members" of the garnet group can be mixed (e.g. grandite or rhodolite) or get their color from traces of elements (e.g. demantoid). |
